How to fix grammar where you write

The move is the same everywhere. Select, right-click, pick Gramai, and the corrected text lands where the old text was. Here is what that looks like in Gmail, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, Notion and Slack, plus the few quirks worth knowing before you start.

Gmail

Write the message as you normally would, mistakes and all.
Select the sentence or the paragraph you want corrected.
Right-click the selection and choose Gramai, then Fix grammar.
The corrected text replaces your selection in the body of the email.
Not what you wanted? Press Undo in the result panel, or use Ctrl+Z, or Cmd+Z on a Mac.

One quirk: the Gmail body is rich text, and what comes back is plain text. Bold, links and colour inside the selection are lost. Select around them, or apply the formatting again after the fix.

Start a post, a comment or a message and write your draft.
Select the part you want changed.
Right-click, choose Gramai, then Fix grammar. Make professional is the one people reach for on a post.
The text is replaced in the box, and Undo is in the result panel.

One quirk: a mention or a hashtag inside the selection comes back as plain text and loses its link. Keep them outside the selection.

X and Reddit

Write the post or the reply in the composer.
Select the text.
Right-click, choose Gramai, then Fix grammar or Make concise.
The result replaces the selection and the character counter follows it.

Make concise is the useful one on X when you are a few characters over the limit. It cuts filler and repetition without dropping any facts.

Notion

Click into the block you are writing in.
Select the text inside that one block.
Right-click, choose Gramai, then Fix grammar.
The block's text is replaced in place.

One quirk: work one block at a time. A selection that runs across several blocks does not come back cleanly, so fix a paragraph, then the next one.

Slack on the web

Type the message in the composer and do not send it yet.
Select the text.
Right-click, choose Gramai, then Fix grammar or Make friendly.
The composer holds the corrected message. Press Enter to send it.

This is Slack in a browser tab. The Slack desktop app is a separate program, and a browser extension cannot reach into it.

Plain text fields and comment boxes

Find any ordinary field: a forum reply, an issue tracker, a CMS box, a support form, a search box.
Select the text and right-click it.
Choose Gramai and an action. The field's contents are replaced and the cursor stays after the new text.

On a page you cannot edit, nothing is replaced. Gramai shows the result in a small panel with a Copy button instead.

Google Docs

Google Docs is not supported, and we would rather say so than let you find out. It does not use an ordinary text field. It paints your document onto a canvas and handles the keyboard itself, so no browser extension can read your selection or write text back into it. There is no workaround at the moment. If you need a fix inside a Doc, paste the passage into any plain text field, run Gramai there, and paste it back.

Change the tone or translate instead

Every action sits in the same menu, right under Fix grammar. Select, right-click, Gramai, and pick a different line:

Make professional for a message to a client, a recruiter or a stranger.
Make friendly to warm up something that reads too flat.
Make concise to cut filler and repetition without losing a fact.
Translate to… for any of 30+ languages. The menu also shows your default target, so the language you use most is one click away. You set it on the options page.

After a result lands you can change your mind. The panel offers Try as, to run another style on the same text, and Translate to, to send it to a different language.

What Fix grammar does and does not change

It corrects real mistakes: grammar, spelling, punctuation and words that are wrong.
It puts back missing diacritics. Text typed as "Postovani, vasa karta" comes back as "Poštovani, vaša karta".
It keeps your wording. Sentence structure, tone and rhythm stay yours, and a sentence with no mistake in it is left alone.
It does not add words, and it does not merge or split your sentences.
It does not translate. The answer comes back in the language you wrote in, unless you pick Translate yourself.
It does not carry formatting. What goes back into the field is plain text, so styling inside the selection is lost.

Questions

The Gramai items are not in my right-click menu

Select some text first. The items only appear on a selection, so a right-click on an empty spot shows the ordinary browser menu. If you see Fix grammar on its own, switch on "Show extra actions in context menu" on the options page to get the tone actions and Translate as well.

Does it work in the Gmail or Slack desktop apps?

No. Gramai is a browser extension, so it reaches text in browser tabs. Use Gmail and Slack on the web, or write in the browser and paste the result across. A Mac app for text outside the browser is on the way.

Can I undo a fix?

Yes. The result panel has an Undo button that puts your original wording back. Ctrl+Z, or Cmd+Z on a Mac, usually works too, because the new text is inserted the way typed text is.
